FAQ's

Do I need prior yoga experience to join a 100-hour or 200-hour course?

No. While some familiarity with yoga helps (so you are physically comfortable doing asanas), our courses are structured for absolute beginners through to more practiced students. We offer modifications and progressions.

What exactly does “Yoga Alliance Certification” mean?

Yoga Alliance is a globally recognized body that sets standards for yoga teacher training schools. When your course is registered with them, your certification is accepted in many countries and studios. Aadi Yoga School is registered, so graduates can use the “RYT 200” title after the 200-hour course.

How long are the courses and what’s a typical daily schedule?

The main offerings are 100-hour and 200-hour residential courses. The day usually starts early (around 6:00 AM), with yoga, breathing, meditation, theory, alignment, rest, and evening practice. There’s also time for self-study. Classes usually end by dinner, followed by relaxation (e.g. Yoga Nidra).

Where is the school located and what’s the surroundings like?

We are near Laxman Jhula, one of the iconic bridges over the Ganges. The area is peaceful, spiritual, with easy access to nature and river views. It’s close enough to town for essentials but far enough for calm and reflection.

What kind of accommodation and food is provided?

Comfortable shared (and in many cases private) rooms, clean, well-maintained. Three vegetarian meals daily, nutritious and wholesome. Options for vegan or gluten-free diets are available on request. Fresh fruits, salads, herbal teas often included.

Are there age or physical restrictions?

We welcome students of various ages and fitness levels. If you have specific health conditions, injuries, or mobility concerns, let us know in advance so we can adapt or provide modifications.

Will I be able to teach professionally after completing the course?

Yes. With the Yoga Alliance certification (e.g. RYT 200 for the 200-hour course), you have credentials recognized internationally. We also offer guidance in teaching methodology and even basic support for starting your own yoga classes or studio.

What is expected of students (attendance, discipline, etc.)?

Full attendance is required. Discipline helps maintain the flow and integrity of the training. If illness or emergency arises, students must inform the faculty. Unexcused absences may affect the certification. Also, students are expected to maintain respect, punctuality, and goodwill toward fellow students and teachers.

How much does it cost, and what is included / excluded?

The fee usually covers tuition, meals, accommodation, study materials, and guidance. It’s good to check what your package includes (private vs shared room, vegan/gluten-free meals, transportation, extra excursions). Any extras (airport pickup, trips outside schedule) may incur additional costs.

How do I prepare before arriving? What should I bring?

Comfortable yoga clothes (layers are helpful, mornings can be cool) Your own yoga mat, if possible (though the school often has mats) Basic toiletries, possibly insect repellent, sunblock, modest clothing for walking around town Any medicines or health supplements you require A journal, water bottle, open mind, readiness to adapt
